Faaast · Privacy Policy
Effective 7 October 2026
Faaast is a timer for intermittent fasting. It is built to work without an account, and almost everything it knows stays on your iPhone. This policy explains the few exceptions.
The short version
- No account, no sign-up, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.
- Your fasts, weights, water, progress photos and settings are stored on your iPhone. We never receive them.
- If you buy Faaast Pro, our purchase provider (RevenueCat) receives a record of that purchase so Pro can be unlocked and restored. It isn’t linked to your name or email.
- iCloud backup and Apple Health are optional, and the data goes to your own Apple account, not to us.
What stays on your iPhone
Everything you enter or create in Faaast is stored in the app’s private storage on your device:
- fasts (start and end times, goals, fast types) and weekly goals;
- weights and your goal weight;
- water and electrolyte entries;
- progress photos, and the cut-outs Faaast makes when you choose a White or Paper background (the person is separated from the background on your iPhone, using Apple’s on-device Vision framework);
- achievements, reminders and your settings.
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone; they don’t come from a server. If you set the optional Face ID lock, your progress photos can only be opened after Face ID or your passcode; Faaast never sees your face data.
Deleting the app deletes this data. In Settings → Your data you can also export it, or delete everything.
Optional: your Apple account
These features are off until you turn them on, and the data goes to Apple services under your own Apple Account. We cannot access it.
- iCloud backup (Faaast Pro) copies your Faaast data, including progress photos, to your private iCloud storage, so you can restore it on a new iPhone. Weights read from Apple Health are never backed up. You can turn backup off in Settings → iCloud backup, and delete the backup in the iPhone’s Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage storage → Faaast.
- Apple Health (Faaast Pro), with your permission, reads weights from Health and saves the weights you log in Faaast to Health. Faaast only asks for body weight. Health data is never used for advertising, never shared, and never leaves your device through Faaast. You can change the permission in the Health app at any time.
Apple’s own privacy policy applies to iCloud and Health: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
Purchases
Faaast is free to download. Faaast Pro is sold through the App Store as a yearly or monthly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase.
- Apple handles the payment. We never see your card or your Apple Account details.
- RevenueCat, Inc. (USA) manages subscriptions for us. When the app starts and when you buy or restore, RevenueCat receives your purchase history: which product you bought, when, the App Store transaction and its status, together with a random identifier the app creates (not your name, email or Apple Account), and basic technical details such as the app version, iOS version, country and currency. It uses them only to confirm that you have Pro, to restore it on another device, and to give us totals such as how many people subscribe. This data is not linked to your identity and is not used for tracking or advertising. RevenueCat’s privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
The legal basis for this processing is the performance of the contract you enter when you buy Faaast Pro (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). RevenueCat processes this data in the United States under appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Purchase records are kept for as long as they are needed to provide Pro and to meet legal and accounting obligations.
Files you choose to share
Exporting your data, importing a file from another app, or sharing a recap card uses the iOS share sheet. The file goes only where you send it.
Children
Faaast is not intended for anyone under 18. Fasting isn’t suitable for everyone, and Faaast isn’t medical advice; the Fasting stages screen says so too.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and similar laws you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data, object to or restrict its processing, or ask for a copy of it. Because we don’t hold your fasting data, most of these are in your hands in the app itself (export, delete everything, or delete the app). For the purchase record held by RevenueCat, email us and we will help; we may need the transaction ID from your App Store receipt to find it. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date. If a change affects what data leaves your iPhone, the app will tell you before it happens.
